Market research

Before even diving into the features and the overall UX for Finder, I conducted a couple product competitive analyses to gain a better understanding of the goal setting apps already in the market:

Impression in 10 sec:

  • First pop up window will ask you to provide information about your current job and salary.
  • Search bar big and bold, with two option:1. Free search 2. By category.

Pros:

  • Start search.
  • They know what the client is looking for.
  • Search engine very precise.
  • Large fonts, large banners.

Cons:

  • The menu is being presented three times.
  • Login button, hard to find and is not specific about the type of persona - employer or employee.

Impression in 10 sec:

  • Smiling faces, the way you want to feel at work.
  • Come and search for your next dream.

Pros:

  • Full screen, no need to scroll down.
  • Search area big and bold.
  • Can search for jobs by area and category.

Cons:

  • Login button not specific about the type of persona - employer or employee.

Impression in 10 sec:

  • Clean view, not too many colors.
  • Tried hard to show how they are the best in their business.

Pros:

  • Not too many colors, gray and a bit of orange.
  • Login button for employers, big and bold.
  • Search area separated into two zones 1. Search engine 2. Categories.

Cons:

  • They show two bars next to each other "Why us?" That indicates low self-confidence.Search bar very small, hint is not included.
